With Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo yet to take Serie A by storm since his arrival from Real Madrid, a former Brazil international believes the five-time Ballon d’Or winner “will suffer” in Italy at times.
The Portuguese had to wait until his fourth league match to get off the mark for his new club, but has begun to look more and more comfortable since.
Former AC Milan and Selecao right-back Cafu believes Ronaldo will not find it easy to dominate straight away in Italy as he feels the league is far more physical than LaLiga is.
“He is going to give more visibility to Serie A,” he said, according to the Daily Star.
“He will suffer a little in Serie A because Serie A is a lot more difficult than LaLiga in terms of the contrast in teams and in terms of the physical contact.
“But Ronaldo is always Cristiano Ronaldo. (He is the) best player in the world and will give a little more star power to Serie A.”
Ronaldo has scored three goals and assisted a further five strikes in seven Serie A matches with Juve so far.
